Hoops automatically autosaves your SalesDocs while you work.
This helps prevent lost work if:
You accidentally close the document
You navigate away from the page
You are interrupted while creating a quote
Your browser refreshes unexpectedly
If you have ever asked:
“Does Hoops autosave quotes?”
“Can I recover an unsaved SalesDoc?”
“Where are my draft quotes?”
“Why can’t my team see my draft?”
“Can I continue editing an unfinished quote?”
This article explains how Autosave and Unsaved Drafts work.
How Autosave Works
As soon as you create a new SalesDoc, Hoops automatically begins saving changes into your browser autosave.
You will see a message indicating:
The document has been autosaved
There are unpublished changes
⚠️ Important
Autosave is stored:
In your browser
On your current device
Autosave is not immediately written to the Hoops database.
This means:
Autosaved drafts are user-specific
Autosaved drafts are device-specific
Other users in your organization cannot see the document yet
The SalesDoc only becomes visible to the rest of your organization once you formally save it.
Unsaved Drafts
If you leave a SalesDoc before saving it, Hoops stores the document within your Unsaved Drafts list.
To access Unsaved Drafts:
Open your SalesBoard
Click the Unsaved Drafts dropdown
Here you will see your most recent draft SalesDocs.
Clicking a draft will reopen the document so you can continue editing.
Any new changes will continue autosaving automatically until you formally save the document.
Saving the SalesDoc
Once you click Save:
The SalesDoc is written to the Hoops database
The document appears on your SalesBoard
Other users in your organization can now access it
The draft is removed from Unsaved Drafts
At this point, the document becomes a normal shared Hoops SalesDoc.
Editing an Existing (Saved) SalesDoc
Once a SalesDoc has been saved, that version becomes the official version stored in the Hoops database.
If you later reopen the SalesDoc and make changes, those edits are initially handled through Autosave in the same way as a new draft.
This means:
Your changes are autosaved in your browser
The last saved version remains the official version in the database
Other users continue to see the last saved version
Your edits are not committed to the database until you save again
This provides an additional layer of protection while editing important SalesDocs.
For example:
A SalesDoc is saved and visible to your team.
You reopen it and make several changes.
Those changes are autosaved locally.
Other users continue to see the previously saved version.
Once you click Save, the new version is committed to the database and becomes visible to everyone.
⚠️ Important
Autosaved edits are stored in your browser and on your current device until you save them.
If you want your changes to become the official version of the SalesDoc, you must perform a formal save.
Draft Limits
Hoops stores a maximum of:
8 Unsaved Drafts
Once the limit is reached:
Older drafts may be removed automatically
For this reason, it is recommended that you regularly save important SalesDocs to the database.
Delete Unsaved Drafts
If you no longer need a draft, you can delete it from the Unsaved Drafts list.
Deleting an Unsaved Draft cannot be undone.
