When a delivery arrives, your warehouse team often needs to split it up by Job. The Unpacking View shows what's on a Purchase Order broken down by Job, size, and color, without prices, so you can sort goods and stage them for production. It's part of the Got it stage of purchasing. See Ordering and Receiving Purchase Orders.
Use it to:
Sort a delivery across several Jobs. One Purchase Order often covers goods for many Jobs, and the Unpacking View tells you how many of each size and color belong to each.
Stage garments or products for decoration. Know what to set aside for each Job before production starts.
Give your warehouse or production team a price-free checklist. Print the unpacking sheet for whoever opens the boxes, without showing them what you paid.
Unpacking View or Actions View?
The two views do different jobs:
UNPACKING VIEW is for organizing and identifying goods. It shows what belongs to which Job.
ACTIONS VIEW is for recording ordered and received quantities. To record that items have arrived, go back to ACTIONS VIEW. See Purchase Order Receiving Actions.
Open the Unpacking View
Go to Purchasing and select the Purchase Order number.
Select UNPACKING VIEW above the Purchase Order.
You can switch back to the working view at any time by selecting ACTIONS VIEW.
What the Unpacking View shows
The Unpacking View lists each product on the Purchase Order with the quantity for each Job, size, and color.
Item and the total Quantity for each product.
Job # for each line, so you know which Job the goods belong to. Select a Job number to open that Job.
Size and Color for each line, with the Quantity for that Job.
For example, if a Purchase Order covers Jobs 13 and 14, a tote bag may appear once with 1,500 units split across Job 13's colors, and again with 100 units for Job 14.
Prices, item statuses, and the ordering and receiving buttons aren't shown.
Print the unpacking sheet
To get a copy you can print or give to your team, select ACTIONS, then Get PDF Unpacking Sheet. You can also find Get PDF Unpacking Sheet in the Actions column on the Purchasing Board. For more on the Board, see Understanding the Purchasing Board.
