Follow along step by step to build and save your first apparel and decoration quote using the sample data in your Hoops free trial.
Your free trial already includes sample customers, products and decorations. In this guide you'll use them to build a real quote from start to finish, in about a minute.
Quick Note Before you start
Hoops needs at least one tax before you can save a quote. There is a simple tax saved in your account that will automate as a sample tax when creating a quote.
Note: Taxes can easily be set up when you are ready - take a minute to follow Set Up Your Taxes when you are ready to use with your information.
Step 1: Start a new quote
Follow the instructions below or watch the video: Create quote using sample data
Select SalesBoard in the left menu.
Select ADD NEW in the top right.
Under SalesDoc Templates, select Quote | Quote - Default.
The quote editor opens. The left side is a live preview of your quote (this is what your customers will see when you send it). The right side is where you make changes.
Click on different sections of the preview and the relevant left hand side tool bar will open.
Step 2: Choose the customer

The options for adding items to your quote now appear on the right. Under Add Products, select Catalog.
Select the search field, type

The polo is added to your quote. Scroll down on the right to Variant Pricing. This is where you enter the sizes and colors.
Step 4: Enter the quantities and markup

Hover over the first row and select the duplicate icon on the far right.
The copy keeps the quantity, color and markup. In the new row, change Size to M.
The preview now shows everything you've built so far.
Step 5: Add decoration
In this example, let's just add embroidery. Note that Hoops stores your entire decoration pricing matrix, so you can add any decoration here and it will automate your pricing based on quantities.
Select the back arrow at the top of the right side to return to the list of things you can add.
Under Add Decorations, select Catalog.
Type
Embroideryand select Embroidery 5k - 10k Stitch. In Decoration Pricing, enter

Turn off Add Setup Cost as an Additional Cost.
Note: The decoration's setup cost is saved with the decoration. You can select or deselect it each time you add the decoration. We'll turn it off for this example.
Look at the preview. The decoration price is included in the price of the polos, so your customer sees one price for each shirt: $26.44 ($17.50 for the polo plus $8.94 for the embroidery), or $528.80 in total.
Note: If you want your customer to see the difference in the pricing for the product and the decoration, scroll down on the right to Pricing Mode and choose Itemise Decoration Pricing. For now, leave Roll-Up Decoration Pricing is selected so everything is priced together.
Step 6: Add shipping
Select the back arrow again.
Under Add Additional Costs, select Shipping.
In Pricing, enter
15in Buy Price. The Sell Price becomes $15.00.Under Settings, choose how shipping appears on the quote. Roll-Up Additional Cost Pricing is selected by default. It includes the $15 in the price of the polos, so each polo now shows $27.19 and the quote total is $543.80. For this example, leave it rolled in.
Note: If you want your customer to see shipping as its own $15.00 line, choose Itemise Additional Cost Pricing instead. You can change this at any time before you send the quote.
