Set the Shipping Address on a Purchase Order

Choose where a Purchase Order ships: your own address, a customer's address, another Vendor's address, or a one-off address you type in.

The shipping address on a Purchase Order tells your Vendor where to send the goods. By default, Hoops uses your company address. Change it whenever the order should go somewhere else. Common reasons are:

  • Ship to your own business. The goods come to you, and you check them in or finish the order yourself.

  • Ship directly to your customer. Your Vendor sends the finished goods straight to the person who ordered them.

  • Ship to another Vendor. Blank garments or products go straight from one Vendor to another that will decorate or finish them, as in Create Purchase Orders for Outsourced Decoration.

This article shows you how to choose or change the shipping address in the Purchase Order editor.

Choose a shipping address

  1. Go to Purchasing and select the Purchase Order number.

  2. Select ACTIONS, then Edit.

  3. In the preview on the left, select the Vendor details at the top of the document.

  4. In the toolbox on the right, find Contact and Shipping and select the Shipping Address field.

  5. Select a tab, then select the address.

  6. Check the Ship To details in the preview, then save the Purchase Order.

The goods should come to you.

The addresses saved for your company.

Customer Addresses

The goods should go straight to your customer.

The addresses saved for the customer on the Purchase Order.

Vendor Addresses

The goods should go to another Vendor, such as a decorator.

The addresses of your Vendors and their contacts.

If the customer doesn't have an address saved, the Customer Addresses tab tells you so. Choose another tab, enter the address yourself, or save one for the customer first. See Manage Customer Addresses.

When you choose an address from the Customer Addresses tab, the customer and contact for that address are used on the Purchase Order too.

Choose a saved address or enter a one-off address

  • A saved address comes from one of the three tabs. Use it when the destination is somewhere you ship to regularly.

  • A one-off address is one you type in. Use it for a single delivery that isn't in your lists, or to change part of a saved address.

To enter or adjust an address:

  1. Under Shipping Address, select Edit.

  2. Fill in or change Organisation, Attention To, Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State, Postcode / Zip, and Country.

An address you type or change here applies to this Purchase Order only. Select Hide to close the address fields.

Billing address

Just above Shipping Address, Billing Address is the address that appears under Bill To on the Purchase Order. If you have more than one billing address, choose the one you want from the list.

When the address is right, see Send a Purchase Order to a Vendor.
