Hide Totals on a SalesDoc

Learn how to hide pricing totals on a SalesDoc when you want customers to focus on products, concepts, or options rather than overall pricing. Useful for early-stage discussions, and non-priced proposals/estimates.

Sometimes, you’ll present multiple product options in a single SalesDoc—knowing your customer will only choose one (or a few).

In these cases, showing a combined total can be misleading and may create unnecessary friction in the buying process.

The Hide Totals feature allows you to present options clearly without displaying an inflated overall price.

The Hoops SalesPresentations feature is designed for this exact use case so consider creating a SalesPresentation instead of a SalesDoc with multiple options.

When to Use Hide Totals

Use this feature when:

  • You’re offering multiple product options (e.g. 3 different pens, garments, or styles)

  • The customer will choose one option, not all

  • You want to avoid showing a combined total that doesn’t reflect reality

💡 It’s especially useful for estimate-style SalesDocs, where you are exploring options with the customer.

Step-by-Step: Hide Totals

Step 1: Open Your SalesDoc

Create or open a SalesDoc with your product options added.

Step 2: Open the Terms Toolbox

At the bottom of the SalesDoc, click the Terms Toolbox.

💡 Pro Tips

1. Use Templates for Option-Based Selling
If you regularly present multiple options, create a SalesDoc template with totals hidden by default.

2. Adjust Terms & Customer Actions for Estimates
For SalesDocs like this, you’ll typically want specific terms that reflect an exploratory or estimate-style interaction.

You should also carefully consider the customer actions available:

This keeps the interaction focused on selection and discussion, rather than committing to an order too early.

Summary

  • Hide Totals helps you present options without confusion

  • Prevents customers from reacting to an inflated total

  • Best used for estimate-style SalesDocs

  • Can be set per SalesDoc or saved to a template
