Sometimes you may need to add a decoration to a SalesDoc that is not already saved in your catalog. Hoops makes this easy by allowing you to add a One Off decoration directly inside the SalesDoc.
This is useful for:
Custom decoration types
Temporary pricing
Supplier-specific decoration charges
Special customer requests
One-time production services
Let's look at the steps:
Step 1: Choose One Off Decoration
Select One Off Decoration from either:
The Quick Actions toolbar
The main toolbox on the right-hand side
Step 2: Enter Decoration Name & Vendor
Enter the decoration name.
If the decoration will be supplied or completed by a third-party vendor, select the vendor during this step. This ensures the decoration can later flow correctly into purchasing and production workflows, including purchase order creation if required.
Step 3: Configure Quantity and Pricing
The decoration quantity will automatically be set to the total quantity of all products within the group. Learn More.
You can then enter:
Buy price
Extra cost per unit (optional)
Markup percentage
Final unit price
The markup percentage will default from your organization settings, but can be overridden for this specific decoration if needed.
⚠️ Important: If you need the decoration quantity to differ from the product quantity, create a separate group containing only the decoration. This allows you to manually control the quantity independently.
Add Decoration Specs (Optional)
Use the Decoration Specs section to define the decoration details that will appear on the SalesDoc.
Common examples include:
Position (e.g. Front, Left Chest, Back)
Color (e.g. Red, White, Full Color)
Size (e.g. 3 inch wide logo)
What the customer sees is controlled by your SalesDoc template description settings.
You can also use shortcodes within the description settings to dynamically display decoration information such as:
Position
Color
Size
Vendor
Decoration details
If a shortcode is not already included in your template, you can add it by clicking the relevant node within the description builder.
There are many situations where you may want to track decoration specifications internally without displaying all of that information to the customer.
For example, internal production details such as exact print positioning, ink colors, thread references, or sizing instructions may be important for your team while remaining unnecessary for the customer-facing SalesDoc.
The description and shortcode system gives you full control over this behavior. Simply customize the description settings and choose which shortcode fields should appear in the customer-facing description. Any information not included in the description can still be stored internally within the decoration specs for production and operational reference.
Step 5: Upload an Image
You can upload a mockup, artwork preview, or decoration image directly onto the decoration.
This is useful for:
Proofing
Artwork approvals
Production references
Showing customers a visual preview of the decoration
Customers can click the image within the SalesDoc to view a larger preview.
Step 6: Configure Tax and Pricing Mode
Configure the tax settings for the decoration and choose the pricing mode.
You can override the default template behavior to either:
This gives you flexibility in how pricing is presented to customers.
