Description Settings
Control how product descriptions are automatically generated and formatted across your documents.
Description Settings use shortcodes to pull product, decoration, and pricing data into your descriptions—so you don’t have to write them manually every time.
What This Does
Description Settings allow you to:
Automatically insert product data (e.g. name, code, materials)
Standardize how descriptions appear
Save time when creating SalesDocs, SalesPresentations, and SalesStores
Instead of typing descriptions manually, you define a format once and reuse it.
How It Works
Each option in Description Settings inserts a shortcode.
When you add one, Hoops will:
Pull that data from the product/decoration/additional cost
Insert it into your description
Update it dynamically based on the product selected
If a field doesn’t exist for a product, it will be unavailable (grayed out).
Common Use Cases
Structured product descriptions
e.g.Product Code – Product NameConsistent formatting across your team
Ensure all quotes and presentations follow the same structureReducing manual entry
Automatically include key product details without retyping

Formatting Your Description
You can combine shortcodes with manual text and formatting to fully control how your descriptions appear.
This allows you to:
Add structure and readability
Include important messaging
Standardize communication across all documents
Examples
Structured heading
Product Code – Product Name (with bold formatting)Detailed product block
Product Name
Product Description
MaterialsStatic messaging with dynamic content
Add your product details using shortcodes, then include static text such as:
“All prices exclude tax”
“Freight not included”Mixed layout
Combine multiple shortcodes with text to create a clean, branded format for your descriptions
How It Works
Shortcodes pull in dynamic data (e.g. product name, materials)
Manual text stays fixed and appears exactly as written
Formatting (bold, size, spacing) applies to both
This gives you full control over both what is shown and how it is presented.
Using Templates
To get the most value from Description Settings, apply them to your templates.
Create and configure templates with your preferred description format so every new document is pre-filled correctly.
This ensures:
Consistency across your team
Faster document creation
No need to reconfigure descriptions each time
Examples:
Product Description
How it is displayed to a customer:

💡 Pro Tip
Set up different templates for different use cases.
For example:

A clean template with minimal description
This lets you match your description style to the customer or job.
