šŸ’” Pro Tip: Use Status Columns as Labels

Despite the name, Status columns don't have to represent a workflow.

Many teams use them as simple dropdown labels to categorize records and capture consistent information across their boards.

For example, a production team might create a Printing Machine column with options such as:

  • 12 Colour Automatic

  • 6 Colour Manual

  • Kornit DTG Machine

  • Large Format Printer

An embroidery department could create an Embroidery Machine column containing:

  • 10 Head Tajima

  • 6 Head Tajima

  • Single Head Machine

You can also use Status columns to categorize products, artwork, or designs. For example, a Design column might contain:

  • Palm Trees Design

  • Waves Design

  • Sunset Design

  • Vintage Surf Logo

Other common examples include:

  • Production Method

  • Artwork Status

  • Department

  • Installer Assignment

  • Warehouse Location

  • Supplier

  • Priority

Because Status columns function as a controlled dropdown list, they provide a simple way to standardize information, improve filtering, and create more organized board views across your business.
